The Krause Initiative  hosted the First Annual Principled Leadership Symposium on March 13-14, 2008.   

The theme for the Symposium was, “Principled Leadership: Foundations for Excellence.”  This name was chosen because it captures The Citadel’s strategic label of principled leadership and sets the context that this leadership quality is essential in all professional organizations and vocations.

About 50 student delegates and facilitators from local colleges and peer institutions are participated along with The Citadel cadets.  The conference was tied in with the Corps Day Weekend activities.  Activities included a Keynote Speaker Reception and Dinner as well as off-campus organized activities.

An array of speakers was assembled for the conference.  Some of these speakers will include notable Citadel graduates, sports figures, military personnel, and community leaders.  Speakers’ sessions will be aligned with the academic class schedule to allow the Corps at large to attend.
