For the next month, Honor Committee candidates will participate in an intensive training program, which will prepare these cadets to serve as effective members of the 2009 Honor Committee.
For the next month, Honor Committee candidates will participate in an intensive training program, which will prepare these cadets to serve as effective members of the 2009 Honor Committee. The 2009 training program has the added benefit of exposing more cadets to Honor training, thus creating more "subject matter experts" within the Corps of Cadets. Before being eligible to be elected as an Honor Representative, cadets must successfully complete the training session. Candidates will learn about each component of The Citadel's Honor Code and Honor System, including court room procedures, teaching techniques, and the fundamentals of performing one's duties as an Honor Representative. A level of commitment is expected from any cadet who attends the training sessions, which entail classroom lectures presented by current Honor Representatives, outside reading and homework, periodical quizzes, and an exit exam upon completion of the program. The goal of this year's Honor Representative Training is to provide candidates with the necessary tools to exert a more positive influence over their peers, while serinvg as principled leaders. |
